Bac Giang - As beautiful as its name, Bac Hoa village is a place with a peaceful pace of life and the beauty of traditional earthen houses, nestled among green fields and high mountains.

Nestled at the foot of the mountain of the vast lychee growing area in Luc Ngan, Bac Hoa village offers an interesting experience for tourists when they have to travel through hills of lychee blooming with pale yellow flowers, or the mountain pass with a steep cliff on one side and a deep abyss on the other.

Stopping at the beginning of the main road leading to the village, the scene of Bac Hoa village appeared peaceful and close. The road leading to the village crossed a small stream, with green fields on both sides. At the end of the road, ancient houses with rammed earth walls and yin-yang tiled roofs appeared, lined up next to each other. This is a Nung village with nearly 100 rammed earth houses.

Meeting Mr. Luong Van Son - a young man of the village, we were enthusiastically invited into his house, served drinks and chatted. As we walked, he introduced his house as well as many houses around it. "Currently, there are about 20 houses in the village that still retain the old architectural style, made of earth and roofed with yin-yang tiles," said Mr. Son.
The architecture of the houses here is usually 3 or 5 rooms, the upper part is a system of beams and rafters... "Cool in summer, warm in winter, in the middle of a hot noon, when you come into the house, it's cool right away", Mr. Son said with a smile.

To complete a house, people usually take several months, from getting soil, mixing soil, making molds... Therefore, in the past, whoever built a house, pulled buffalo, or harvested rice, the people in the neighborhood would come to help each other.

Moss on the yin-yang tiled roof adds to the ancient color of the small house in the village.

The air in Bac Hoa village is fresh, peaceful, sunny and windy. Standing in front of the small yard dotted with late-blooming peach blossoms, looking out into the distance are the fields still dotted with chrysanthemums and rapeseed flowers, the lychee hills stacked on top of each other, the flowers covering the hills in white. If you want to visit a house, just step into the yard, because here, people do not use brick walls to cover it, but often make fences or leave them open.

This season, people in Bac Hoa are busy taking care of their lychee hills. In addition to farming, lychee is a crop that brings income to the people. After checking the lychee garden, Mrs. Duong Thi Chi warmly invited us to her house to visit. "The lychee flowering season here is the hardest season, taking care of the lychee and preparing for the new rice crop," Mrs. Chi said.

After the tiring work in the fields, according to Mrs. Chi, the people in Bac Hoa village are about to celebrate Tet very big. During the year, the people here have many big festivals such as Tet on the 3rd of the 3rd lunar month (the beginning of the season when planting), and on the 10th of the 10th lunar month to celebrate new rice. The most special is the Love Market held on the 12th of January, attracting all the villagers, from old to young, men and women to come and have fun. In the sound of music echoing through the mountains and forests and the bright pink color of blooming peach blossoms, the people of Bac Hoa chat together, eat, sing soong hao, and play folk games.

As the afternoon sun gradually set, Bac Hoa village became more ancient and peaceful, with the faint scent of cooked rice. The sound of roosters crowing could be heard from afar, mixed with the sounds of children playing at the end of the working day. Bac Hoa people also ended their long day of work, some leading their horses, others covered in mud returning home.

According to Mr. Luong Van Son, in recent years, the road to Bac Hoa village has become more beautiful, attracting more tourists. Villagers have started to plant more fields of mustard flowers, both for tourists to take pictures and to harvest for economic purposes.
Bac Hoa village still retains its pristine beauty, there are not many tourist services, so this is a suitable place for a day trip. When visiting Luc Ngan district, in addition to Bac Hoa village, visitors can experience lychee harvesting in the ripe season or visit some other attractive places: Chu noodle village, Khuon Than lake, Ta Cang stream...
